On the forum on Otherkin.com, there’s a discussion about Doreen Virtue’s books: Earth Angels, and its sequel, Realms of the Earth Angels. The books in question describe persons who are sort of like otherkin, but neither they nor Virtue indicate that they’re aware that the otherkin subculture exists. (In my opinion, I’d call Earth Angels a parallel evolution of ideas, since it has similar concepts, but doesn’t seem to be a knowing re-interpretation of “otherkin.”) It’s interesting to see how otherkin respond to the Earth Angel books. In the forum thread, some of the otherkin talking about the books say they’ve read them, and others say they’re just judging by how it sounds from the reviews. The thread is two pages long, and spans from May 2009 to December 2009. Read the conversation here.

Date: 2011-05-15 08:45 pm (UTC)Only you can determine whether you are a therian or not. You might read some essays that describe what it's like to be a therian, and see whether that sounds like you. I recommend that you read these essays in particular:
- Art, by Twilight Stray, which describes what it feels like to be a wolf person.
- Am I a therian? by Ozenwolf. This addresses some of the questions you may have.
- Virtual vs. practicing Weres, by ShadowsMyst. This also explores how to tell whether you're really a therian.
- The Shifting FAQ, by Jakkal. This tells a lot about what it's like to be a therian.
- Werebeasts & therianthropy
If you do discover that you're a wolf therian, please always keep in mind that you're in control of yourself. You can live a good life and do well in school. You can also set aside some time to get in touch with your wolf side, by going outdoors and enjoying nature. Here's some advice on how to do that:
- Reconnection, by Swiftpaw.
Since you're in your early teens, I recommend that you read some advice on avoiding mistakes that a teen therian might make:
- Excuses for the high school therian, by Swiftpaw, Synnabar, and CriticalCat. This tells that being a wolf therian is no excuse to act out in class or otherwise make trouble for yourself.
- Anger and the animal person, by Merf. Also on the topic of how your animal side is not your source of anger. It doesn't take over you, and it doesn't make you act out.
I hope this helps. You can make another anonymous comment here if you have more questions.
